Low Pressure Solar Geyser

Our Low Pressure tank is manufactured from 304 Grade Stainless Steel.  It is called Low Pressure but actually has no pressure at all.  The water supply is completely shut off by a Ball Valve Filler Tank, a design also found in your toilet.

 

The Low Pressure Solar Geyser has been branded the RDP Solar Geyser. This is because no one living in the city would appreciate a shower with no pressure.  For this reason we supply a highly reliable Hot Water Booster Pump.  It is activated by a hydraulic pressure switch - as soon as the tap is opened, the pump activates.  It then stops as soon as you close the tap.

 

This system is superior in efficiency, because it is a Direct System, i.e. the water that enters the system flows through the vacuum tubes and the same water ends up at the tap or shower, there is no heat transfer material.

 

These are the factors that make this the most affordable  Solar Geyser.  No expensive High Pressure Tank, and no expensive heat exchangers, whether coils, heat pipes or heat exchange manifolds - which are all made from expensive copper.

The other advantage is that bursting will never be a problem again. No flooded ceilings and damaged furniture.

Because of the Filler Tank the main tank is never under any pressure.  The Hot Water Booster Pump adds pressure again at the Hot Water Outlet, so everything is pressurised except the tank itself.  Although this seems more complicated, this allows for a much more affordable system with a longer lifespan.  Lifespan is 15 - 20 years, longer than any High Pressure Geyser.

Our Vacuum Tubes are SABS Approved to withstand hail.  We have even made our tubes even thicker than the minimum requirements - to a thickness of 2.3mm Borosilicate Glass.  Our Vacuum Tubes have superior absorption technology, that does not make use of the standard 3 layer coating, but 9 layers.  We spend 90 minutes to coat one single tube.

A very strong powder coated, galvanised steel frame supports the complete system.
